| FAMU administrators hope for increase in fall enrollment Fri, 18 Jul 2008 18:45:00 EST Florida A&M administrators received numerous calls from parents and students asking questions about admission once the university's accrediting agency freed it from probation. But Roland Gaines, FAMU vice president for student affairs, still expects fall 2008 enrollment to be the same as fall 2007. "Although we're off of probation, students may have (already) made their decision," Gaines said. "We paid a dear price in recruitment of our National Merit Scholars." National Merit Scholars represent those highly sought after students who have excelled in their studies. FAMU administrators and students took part in a multi-city tour where many National Merit Scholars were offered awards to FAMU.
